Faith. Family. Common Sense.

Recognized for his integrity and quality of work, Michael Begley has served as an Administrative Law Judge for over 11 years in the state of Tennessee and is highly respected by his peers in the legal community. Begley presides over three hundred case types for eighty state agencies, local governments, and universities annually. He personally authors decisions on pre-hearing motions, discovery matters, and dispositive orders.

Prominent for his outstanding legal writing quality, Begley presides over both bench trials and trials involving State Boards and Commissions. Michael believes his broad experience as an Administrative Law Judge uniquely qualifies him to oversee any case referred to his court of authority.

“I believe trust is not given; it is earned. A presiding judge must lead by example and do the right thing, which is to follow the law, protect victims, hold criminals accountable, protect seniors from fraud and abuse, defend the Constitution, and not legislate from the bench,” Begley said. “To me, that’s only common sense, sometimes hard to find these days. My promise is to do everything in my power to protect our community and our family’s way of life. You have my word.”

Guided by his faith and conservative principles, Michael Begley has dedicated his life to his faith, family, and community. He is an avid supporter and coach for Sumner County youth athletics. He and his family also support Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sumner County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), and Full Count Ministries. Michael has served for over 13 years as a deacon at his church, where he also serves as a life group leader and Christian worldview instructor. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Davidson Academy and is a member of the Hendersonville Rotary.

Begley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University. Michael and his wife Erin have been married for over 20 years and have three sons, Finn, Sam, and Will. They are members of Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
